When Screenmate is "not powered up" or not booted for any reason, the Tesla monitor functions as it normally would, as if Screenmate were not installed. We are also working on a feature that will allow the Screenmate to enter sleep mode alongside the vehicle, rather than shutting down completely.

No, Teslogic Screenmate is designed to be safe for your vehicle and does not pose any harm.
Q:
Is there a manufacturer's warranty for the Teslogic Screenmate?
A:
Yes, Screenmate comes with a comprehensive 3-year warranty. If you have any issues or if the device malfunctions, please get in touch with us at info@teslogic.co, and we'll provide assistance.
Q:
Can Screenmate compromise my Tesla warranty?
A:
According to Tesla's official Vehicle Limited Warranty, adding third-party accessories, including Teslogic, doesn't void the overall warranty. However, as a precaution, we recommend removing Teslogic from your car before visiting a Tesla service center. This is to prevent any potential issues with the service staff.
Q:
I have other aftermarket devices installed in my Tesla. Will they interfere with Screenmate?
A:
No, you can continue using any other third-part devices.
Q:
Where can I choose my Tesla model?
A:
We’ll be sending out a backer survey soon, where you can select your Tesla model. Before delivery, we’ll also reach out to confirm your model. If anything changes in the meantime, feel free to let us know.
Q:
Is content playback possible while driving?
A:
Yes, passengers can watch content while the car is in motion. There are no specific regulations regarding the use of the center screen, and we’ve taken steps to comply with existing guidelines. When a passenger is watching content, they simply press the "I’m a passenger" button on the screen. However, it’s always a good idea to double-check local laws to ensure compliance.
Q:
Is there a way to easily bypass the Screenmate device?
A:
You can do it through the screen, the mobile app, or the CAN bus. Screenmate can also be reset like Tesla’s main computer by holding down the steering wheel scroll buttons. By default, it boots in bypass mode, showing Tesla’s native screen. If you need to completely disconnect Screenmate, just reconnect the monitor cable to Tesla’s computer.
Q:
Can Tesla block Screenmate?
A:
No, Tesla cannot block Screenmate. The device operates independently of Tesla's software by switching the display input to its own system, bypassing Tesla's interface entirely.
Q:
If I change my car while waiting for Screenmate, how can I let you know?
A:
We’ll contact all backers before shipment to confirm the required Screenmate version.
Q:

Q:
Can I return this if it's not for me?

Due to the nature of Kickstarter, we cannot offer refunds to backers once the project ends. However, we do provide a comprehensive 3-year warranty and are always ready to help you with any issues you might have.
